Sending Messages
Okay so, I’m interested, but what types of sending can I do- what are the differences between Immediate, Schedule and Single Text?
The Process is as simple as just Select, Input and Click.
- Immediate Text - Send a text message immediately to a group
- Schedule Text - Schedule a text message at a time of your choosing
- Single Text - Send off a quick text to a contact
I have scheduled my messages but cannot remember what I am sending or when. Where are they?
No problem! Click on the “Clock” icon labelled “Queue”, you can view all you scheduled messages within here.
Right I sent my text messages. Can I view sent messages?
Yes you can, click on the “Sent Items” icon and enter a start date and an end date. Then you can do further searching within that range for the mobile number or a piece of text.
I see "List Wizard" within Single Text. What does that do?
List Wizard allows you to select individual contacts from the Groups you
have already created to send a text message to.
Select by clicking on the include box beside the contacts and when finished
click the "Create List" button to return to the message Entry Screen.
Furthermore, you can add more numbers to the list by entering them directly
into the "And/Or Enter Mobile/Cell Number:" section.
Sender Identification & Replies
Can I receive replies back to my phone?
- To receive replies we need to have your mobile/cell number as the Sender ID of your messages.
- If you wish to have your mobile/cell number as the Sender ID of your messages, go to “Edit Details” option, select the Sender ID icon and follow the instructions.
- Every message you send excluding SOME wireless carriers in the countries listed below will now have your mobile/cell number as the Sender ID.
- Of course depending on your network tariff you may be charged for receiving a reply by your wireless carrier but only if you normally get charged for receiving messages.
- Unfortunately, we cannot use your Sender ID for texting some recipients based in the USA, Canada, France, India or South Korea as their network routing does not allow it at this time
- Where we cannot use your mobile/cell number as the Sender ID we will automatically default to our service center number. In these instances, the recipient will not be able to reply directly to the message.
- You should always include your name within a message so that the recipient knows exactly who is sending it.
I changed my number with my account using “Edit Details” but I cannot receive replies to my new phone any more. What can I do?
Your new number needs to be validated. So what you do is go back into “Edit Details”, select the Sender ID icon and follow the instructions. Then you will start receiving your replies from now on.
I did not validate my number before I sent a text message, can I retrieve any replies?
No, afraid not. The messages would have been sent using one of Go2mobile's default sender ids and thus reply is not possible.
Time Zones
Why does Time Zone matter when setting up my account/or editing my account?
Since this has a scheduled text messaging option and thus depends on sending messages out in your time then we need to know where you are. You would not want your contacts receiving messages at 2am.
Groups & Contacts
How do I create groups/contacts? Is it hard? Does it require rocket science?
No not at all. Click on “Contacts” on the main page (the Theatre Mask icon)- you will enter the Groups area, just enter a Group within here and click “Add”, you are then presented with a Contacts button, click on that and start adding your contacts.
What is the required format for number entry?
International Code- Network Operator Code- Contact Number
What is the ID field about within Contacts when I am adding a number?
This field allows you to personalize the message to your contacts. You can include their first name within this for example, so the message may be “Hi There Ben, Meet at Starbucks 2pm?” Or “Hi, let me know when you are finished class, Danielle”
Okay so I have added the ID, now how do I include it within my scheduled or immediate messages?
That is very easy, just enter the matilda sign ~ anywhere in the message that you wish to include the ID, so in the above instances “Hi There ~, Meet at Starbucks 2pm?” Or “Hi, let me know when you are finished class, ~”
I wanted to include an ID within Single Text, but it did not allow it. Why not?
Well we require groups to know the contact information, single text does not include groups by its very nature. So if you want to include some personal ID, then simply include the person's name directly into your message.
My friend or business associate is not speaking to me any more so I do not want her included in my broadcasts?
No problem. Within Contacts you will see “Block Lists”- enter a number there and they will be removed from all your groups instantly. Further more, any time you try and enter that number then you will be reminded that they don’t want to hear from you and so the process is stopped.
What are Advanced Options within “Groups”?
This area allows you to:
- Change group names
- Delete groups and their associated contacts
- Send an Email to yourself containing a groups associated contacts
